I have mono but I can't sleep more than 30 min at a time because I have to get up and spit out phlegm. Help?
I am 22 and have been pretty sick for almost two weeks now and was diagnosed with blood tests a week ago. My throat hurts so much to swallow that I have difficulty getting down fluids and food (it's not blocking the page though). I am extremely congested and constantly blowing my nose. Because of this I almost always need to breathe out of my mouh which only makes my throat dry out and hurt more. I'm completely exhausted but I can't sleep for more than half an hour at a time. It's like clockwork. When I wake up I need to go spit out a fair amount of phlegm which is coating my throat. My ears have also been bothering me. It's as if I was on a plane and needed to pop them but can't. I know most of these symptoms will go away eventually but I need to sleep. Does anyone have any insight that can help me stay asleep longer? I usually don't have any sleeping difficulties.
