How do I totaly restart my computer?

I am asking this because my USB port had cross wired then my screen whent blank. Every time I turn my computer on it is still blank. So if you know a nother way to fix it or restart my coputer tell me. The coputer I have is a Windows XP. And i know when you hold the power en it restarts, but im asking for a nother way
