Can someone serve jury duty for you?

I just got done serving jury duty and I realized that nobody at the courthouse ever ask for ID's. The same happen to my brother when he served. So I'm thinking, I could've paid a friend who's a convicted felon to serve for me...and they wouldn't even know...
